“Ask and you shall get”

We all grow up and forget about our own beliefs as kids. I am sure all of us have had stockings right outside our doors expecting Santa to drop in goodies for us! We would pray to god right before our exams, because we believed that our exams papers would comprise of questions we know really well! Yet as we grow up we leave all our faith and beliefs behind, today something happened which definitely made my belief stronger – It was not sheer luck for me. It was a prayer heard!!!!

Today after a long time(since December) my boss was not at work. And believe me when I say what a day? I had no work so the entire day passed really smoothly – wrote a blog, then took couple of silly quizzes on Facebook! I mean I really wish I could spend days like this at work. Anyways, it was a wonderful day – 10 people at office, no boss, unlimited breaks, no arguments, no deadlines, no sessions …nothing …hola! The clock struck 6 and I was off! It was exactly 6:00 by my watch IST.
(Since most of you are not aware my office is in the heart of Delhi which is Cannaught Place. Crossing the road takes nothing less than 10 minutes on a Monday.) I guess since I did not had my daily doze of stress today. I nearly escaped an accident while crossing the road. Anyways, I saw loads of Auto rickshaw, was thinking – “Soon I’d be off to home!” What a pity???? This is how the conversation went:

Me: Auto!!!!!!
Auto Driver: Kahan jaana hain???? (Where would you go?)
Me: Mayur Vihar!!!!(spilled the beans I guess)
Auto Driver: Nahin Madam wahan Nahin jayengey!!!(I will not go to Mayur Vihar!!!)
Ghrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

1….2……3….4….5…6…7….. my……. my patience was kind of wearing off. There were near about 10-15 Auto Drivers who refused out rightly to go to Mayur Vihar! Worst, they kept waiting right next to me!! I was cursing all of them in my heart (Am I not human???) What’s wrong in going to Mayur Vihar??? And I saw two Autos coming towards me.

All I could remember is this phrase from a Movie I watched last night -Evan Almighty. God tells Evan- Ask and you shall get! I did ask for it! The Auto Guy agreed in one go. I did not even negotiate things with him. This really was a blissful moment for me!!!!
I ardently believe in the power of almighty. Today my belief became even firmer!
