Dawn of the 2010: We truly Miss you
You were the best dad of the world, meant the world to us. We 3 are very proud of you Papa. This post is only one of your favourite songs which for us truly described you and your attitude towards life.
Kisiki muskuraahaton pe ho nisaar
Kisika dard mil sake to le udhaar
Kisike waaste ho tere dil mein pyaar
Jeena issi ka naam hai
Maana apni jeb se fakeer hain
Phir bhi yaaron dil ke ham ameer hain
Mitte jo pyaar ke liye woh zindagi
Jale bahaar ke liye woh zindagi
Kisi ko ho na ho hamein to aitbaar
Jeena issi kaa naam hai
Rishta dil se dil ke aitbaar ka
Zinda hai hameen se naam pyaar ka
Ke mar ke bhi kisi ko yaad aayenge
Kisi ke aansuon mein muskuraayenge
Kahega phool har kali se baar baar
Jeena issi kaa naam hai
Kisiki muskuraahaton pe ho nisaar..
and you truly were and are alive while you lived on.

The East coast Bonanza - Pondicherry
My Kerala fever is not yet over and I have been in Chennai for over 5 days and all I wanted to see is the coastline opposite to Kerala, so cornered an acquaintance and my weekend getaway was the Union Territory Pondicherry (they call it Poudocherry). Few words that come to my mind when I think of Pondicherry are a sleepy, calm, laid-back, slow paced town which is perfect place to unwind your self.
Mamallapuram Caves

We started at about 7.30 a.m in the morning via east coast road. Since Vijay is from Chennai we first went to Mahabalipuram which is like bonanza for someone like me who loves the history, architecture, structure and symmetry. These structure are 1400 years old, I saw quite a few of them like the tiger caves, Elephanta caves, Shore temple built by Pallavas are all geniuses for there remains tell you the strength and the artistic bend of the people . One of the discoveries made after Tsunami was a temple of Karthikey right next to the beach. I am truly awestruck with the detailing and ability to replicate structures over and over again. Another striking feature was the fact that in most cases lion images sculpted on the stones were similar to the lion on Sri Lankan Flag.
We had our breakfast at Anand Bhawan and Vijay made sure I ate everything with hand even the Vada (the salty doughnut :P). It was easy though but just that I never tried it before. We hit the East Coast road where we drove for about 4 hours before we reached Pnodicherry- the place I ahve been dying to see.
Pondi: French Architecture: One of my favourite

Pondi: The Church at the Roadside

Bay of Bengal unlike Arabian sea is very wild and untamed the beaches are rocky and the roar of the sea is 100 times louder. The delightful French architecture is simple, well defined, mesmerizes and is full of color. Most government offices are next to the rocky beach, I wanna get into a govt job their ( anybody listening). We went to see this church along the same road in pink and cream color and amazing idols of Mother Mary and Jesus. We sat there for quite sometime I was admiring the structure the colorful panes in the windows and Vijay was offering his prayers. We halted at Auroville beach which was my first encounter with Bay of Bengal huge waves hitting against the shore. The actually washed foot wear of lot of people in front of me. But I was busy admiring the full moon The sand is grainy and has lot of sea shells. Finally we bid adios to the city.
Truly a nice weekend getaway yet Kerala still top my chart.

God's Own Country in its True Sense
In the true sense this rice grain shaped, sleepy state is truly blessed with the grace of god. Innumerable churches each an epitome of architecture, hills guarding all the natural beauty the state has to offer,Greenery that's just never ends, umpteen groves of coconuts , banana, rivers brimming with water, virgin beaches and above all the roaring clear blue sea everywhere you see. A state which boasts the highest literacy rate, may that's the reason they are so polite and humble. in spite of language barriers they still try to help you out of the way.
I may not be the first one to visit this part of India but am truly awed by the cultural bonanza and the simplicity of the locals towards the tourists(for I visited Kanyakumari as well)!
I can't think any dull moment I had travelling awestruck with nature's bonanza. Or the amount of help extended by strangers to two gurls, be it the auto driver who waited for us while we happily went for backwater ride and then by the house boat guy who made sure we were enjoying the beach within the safe distance yet getting drenched ...... or the guy who ensured we boarded the right bus, just to begin with ....
One the most memorable trip I have been on with one of my very close friend, to a destination which has made it to my favourites in one go. Am truly on a holiday after along time ...more destinations to come, now tomorrow am going for a live Kathakali Performance!!!!

~A Splendid Prelude~

The stupendous response to the opening ceremony of CWG proved me wrong big time!! Am truly enthralled, ballistic, excited, etc. etc., that I had tears in my eyes while watching the entire ceremony!!I was elated that we have put up a great show to the world, when not only world's media but our own private news channel had given up on the success of this event. Truly, a show which was magnificent, grand, elegant and a true representative of our vast and diversified culture- from north to east and from south to west! The world saw our nation ~Incredible India~ with colors, lights and fireworks it was a perfect master piece.
This also highlights the fact we are on our way to the league of sports based nation!! With one of the biggest contingent of 600+ participants. Indian contingent was welcomed with roaring of 60,000 spectators, I am sure the players would perform better to leave an everlasting impressions on the mind of Indians!!! Not to forget, there are predictions, that after these games India would rank no.2 amongst the world in sports.
One of the largest democracy, went ahead and proved again!! All the Media negativity created around these games was tarnished and again it's the "belief" that won today!! The faith of million people- The common man for whose benefit we bid for this event in the first place. As Common Wealth Games is a representation of the common man - friendships and equal opportunities for all. And the common man was there - as a participant, sport person, audience, volunteer, security personnel, politicians, and the event was a success for the same reason.
Few Quotes from the Ceremony:
" It was our dream to make India a game focus nation. 70,000 million hours of hard work, prying eyes of the world media, bout our determination got us here. The upcoming SUPER-POWER India is ready to host the Common Wealth games!"
~ Kalmadi's Address at the Ceremony
" It is a historic and proud moment for the city of Delhi and for all of us! Great sporting spectacle unfold."
~ Dr. Manmohan Singh's address at Common Wealth Games
" ..... to take part in the honor of Common Wealth and the glory of the sport"
~ Oath by Abhinav Bindra at Common Wealth Games Opening Ceremony
It always happens in sports that "One Man plays and the entire Nation Wins"! So today we won the respect, pride, honor!!!
One a nostalgic note, this is also my 100 post on this blog!! And what a post it is!!! Cheers to everyone who's behind putting such an electric show, am sure all the million billion Indians would go to bed today as proud Indians. Jai hind!

"Promise ........
......... are like the full moon, if they are not kept at once they diminish day by day” ~

Since long I have been really thinking to write about this one, as am once again on the crossroads of life. Wonder why people always over promise and under deliver. I am a BPO product hence life science comes easy to me, by which I mean I keep my promises else I don't commit no matter if it causes hurt or not. Much to my dismay I see people committing big time yet not delivering results! I have faced this challenge both at personal and professional front. Professionally, am very receptive to slack on someone else end. Hence am well equipped to take it head one or definitely have a back up plan.
On personal end it's kind of heart breaking, because one chooses their relationships with people around them. However the worst that could happen is a person breaks all the emotional bond and keeps talking about the materialistic commitments made! That's really like the heights of everything. On the contrary there are people in my life am glad to have as they went extra-miles to fulfill their promise.
I am an average person- nothing extra ordinary, working my way professionally, have dreams and busy chasing them happily. But what I am bad at is judging people and I accept it. I believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact! So promises kept or not am living my life to the fullest :"> but it may turn out that after few more disasters I may stop taking promises.

Faith

And here it goes again,
A slow sad day,
Comes to an end.
A sigh of relief,
A breath of content,
For our battle has survived,
Yet another dawn to dark.
Heap of worries,
Broken dreams,
Just memories to linger on,
Delirium seems away.
FAITH is all we crawl,
to
thrive for a new day!!!!

Voice of Silence 14 August Pics
15 August, 1947, the day India awakened to freedom….and the rest is history!
An appreciation mail from the Trust !
"The 63rd anniversary of India’s Independence was celebrated with full of zeal at Tarang chain of Balwadis on August 14, 2010. The special invitees included 12 hearing and speech impaired young students from Sai Swayam Society (NGO), Delhi accompanied by Dr. Meera Malhotra, a doctor voluntarily undertaking health check-ups of children at Tarang centres. Sai Swayam Society provides vocational training to the hearing and speech impaired, and assists in job placements too.
Ms. Priya Kanchanbaras, Project Manager from Sai Swayam Society was also present at the event. The high enthusiasm of young people infused abundant positive energy and motivation. The group immensely enjoyed interacting with children and teachers. They came forward for flag hoisting, stood beside children who got nervous while reciting songs, poems etc., thus boosting their morale. Among the highlights of the event was a dance performance at Tarang Farms by Sai Swayam Society students, synchronizing it with claps, that left us completely speechless!
The whole experience was amazing. The memories and encouragement compels us to do something more for the society. It was overwhelming when the group from Sai Swayam Society presented toys, stationery for underprivileged children at Tarang Balwadi centres.

~INVICTUS~

This is a post I found on a random blog, I so much wished these lines were a part of my blog! Here it is with its due credit to someone else.
AzAAdIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

'Inquilab Zindabad!' (Long live revolution)... An intense, passionate voice ... of young patriot Bhagat Singh. Since my school days I am inclined towards the extremists' struggle for Independence rather than the moderates. Thus like them I take the problems professionally or personally their way- Head on! Today is India's Independence day am writing about the the change which is going to catch up soon. Am a proud Indian and am satisfied with my current job more than anyone else. What I experienced today is something revolutionary? Something I have never felt before! People always crib about something or the other but today when two not so privileged sections met for the first time- the life long bond seemed to form!!!! Such ideas give birth to the fact that we all should be thankful for this life, for we can make a difference to someone's life.

For past couple of months I have been working for improving employment opportunities of hearing and speech impaired. The more time I spend with these students more determined I am to work towards the cause. Today was a prelude to the Independence Day, a day wherein I wanted the students to celebrate 'Freedom' and cherish it the most.
So around 11 of these differently able students along with me went to 3 study centers of under privileged kids between 2 to 5 years. The environment was ecstatic, the way they met each other was not meant to be heard or spoken about but only meant to be applauded and seen! The kids loved them and held their hands tightly. The Balwadi kids performed for the special kids with all their heart and soul ( the most heart felt thing was the NGO kids understood everything without me using Sign language for them). The environment was so enthusiastic that inspite of the rains, rough weather, muddy fields, broken roads, etc.the spirit was not dampen. You could never say if the two were meeting for the first time.
While leaving, the NGO Students gifted colors, paint books, nick nacks, stationary, etc. to the underprivileged kids. It was truly a perfect crescendo to the an event which was responded well by all the participants and the organizers.
What triggered this post is the fact I am still getting texts from my students about how good they felt about this whole event!!!!!
** In the past 4 years this is the best Independence day celebrations I have had!!! Its going to linger on for long time in my memories. Thought of sharing it with you :D

Messed up

After a long time this struck me while sleeping! Just got up to pen it down! Am getting weirder day by day!
Are you listening?
The things unsaid,
The innumerable tears not shed,
A heart that has stopped!
Why do we talk?
When what’s felt,
Is not said.
All is lost in deception!
Is everything calculated?
Emotions are laid out well,
Now I shall laugh,
Then shall I cry.
Why is it love?
When nothing really matters,
Every truth is buried deep,
Yet don’t know why we linger on……
I may have lost it,
So have you!
For there is nothing left common!
This is it. This is the end
I can see it……….. so why can’t you?

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins

An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
WHAT CANCER CELLS FEED ON
a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.
b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells are being starved.
c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.
d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells.
To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).
e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water--best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.
f. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.
g. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.
h. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.
Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.
Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY AND ELIMINATE CANCER,
JOHNS HOPKINSIS FINALLY TELLS YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY ...Since this got my attention am posting it here to help many who like me have no clue where to go from here.
FACTS ABOUT CANCER
1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.
3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.
4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc., and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.
7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.
8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.
9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

Movie time
Since Office is closed for renovation hence am busy downloading and watching movies that I missed all the while. I am a sucker for romantic flicks don't be surprised if most of them are romantic flicks. ( A little secret I had to get an 80GB hard disk installed for these.) Here is the list:

Love Story ( Based on one of the most talked about books when I was a teenager, Kind da knew the story but still worth a watch)
It Could Happen to you ( Good things happen to good people, that's all this movie is all about)
Little Women (One of the most intriguing movie about 4 sisters, truly made me nostalgic about my own sisters. Talks more about the character of the women and not the appeal. Loved this one.)
The Perfect Man ( A chick flick- kind of passe')
Valentine's Day ( My kind of romance coz everything goes fine in the end!!)
When a Man Loves a Woman ( I love Meg Ryan, I think I can watch Kate and Leopold, french Kiss, When Harry met sally, Prelude to the Kiss, Just a million times. The Movie is definitely romantic but i its unusual manner)

The Twilight Saga Eclipse ( The much awaited movie was hyped. I still droll over the first part and would only say this one was okay)
Gia ( Angelina Jolie at her best! One of the rare movies post Girl Interrupted that I liked of her)
Alex and Emma ( Silly)
I hate Valentine's Day ( Very Reel movie)
Invictus (Am inspired infact moved by the immense strength of Mr Mandela. He's truly a hero) It's High time I should find if there is a book on him! I think it will make for my next read.
Love Actually ( Only for Hugh Grant)
Music and Lyrics ( Only for Hugh Grant)
Out of these 2 make it to my favorites Little Women & no guesses for this one Invictus!
For tomorrow, I can't really wait as I have already downloaded Push and Unthinkable! Let's see how they go!

Hissy Fit
I may not be the right person to speak! But still I want to express my feelings about what is going on around me! There have been some major crises that our country is going through, to top it all, the media is spicing up these news! Can I truly see some sophistication about reporting a certain crime or slag on government's part or cops or even any common man? Is the whole idea behind a news and the soap opera same TO GET HIGHER TRP's!
My Distress started when I saw what happened to the milk tankers on the Pune highway! Media was busy covering the milk being wasted by some political party but no one dared to stop them or call the cops? The largest democracy of the world wherein the majority of population goes without eating, some goons had the ability to waste milk and not to forget gallons of it!
The agony was further aggravated when the Venue of Common Wealth Game; Nehru Stadium worth 80 CR was seeping water at various sights and the channels were showcasing Rahul Mahajan's hostility towards his wife. The only thing that brings pleasure for people is the grapevine- be it office, home or neighborhood, friends or celebrities. Someone’s pain is other’s pleasure. I mean the CWG is a concern of Nation's Pride. But no one is truly involved, everyone is busy blaming each other and making a hue and cry about the past. It's a shame that for once all the politicians cannot forget their differences and be one for an event which is just 2 months away. I agree the government is at fault that does not mean all you do is criticizing their action, it’s time to move on and be a wonderful host to the world. Am perturbed with the fact that we the people are governed by short sighted people.
Today, I just could not keep up to the shallowness of our educators and our protectors- the cops. 400 students of a premier educational institute were arrested for partying – the culprit ‘Alcohol’! Give me a break what century am I living in? Is this what we call liberalism? We talk about globalization and to my dismay 18 year old in this country are not even free to make choices but fit to vote! What’s even worse is that the university refused to take any responsibility. And for cops who know them better than the common man, they took 2000INR from each student and left them! What is happening to the freedom of choice? Honestly how many of us were coached by our parents to drink or to smoke? Or even when we did try, how many of us told our parents? I fail to understand why the preachers can’t follow what they preach or in this case can’t preach what they did when they were 18 yrs old? Just because today they hold powerful position does not mean they were saints.
Someday I think I will be refrained from writing as well coz am very strongly opinionated, Truly speaking I feel suffocated and chained.

I am worried, will this hypocrisy continue through the generations to come?!

Happy Birthday
This post is dedicated to my Boss who'd been a mentor, coach, much more than that, someone who left an strong impression on my heart. For he showed me the way to what I am today!! I owe him the "never say die" attitude. Thanks J! Wishing you Life's best today and forever.
For he let me listen to my heart and follow it as well. Am proud to have known you! One of my favorite song to keep me high when dreams shattered it let's me hope dedicated to you. A song
Pankhon Ko Hawa Zara Si LAgne Do
Dil bole Soya Tha Abhi Jagne Do
Dil Dil Mein hai Dil ki Tamanna Sa
To Sa Lau chalo zara si Tapne do
Udne do ho o Udne Do ho o
Hawa zara si Lagne Do
Soya tha abb Jagne Do ho o
Pankhon Ko Hawa Zara Si LAgne Do
Dhoop Khile Jism Garam sa hai
Suraj yahin Yeh Bharam sa hai
Bhikri hui rahein harazon Sau
Thamo koi Phir bhatanke Do
Udne do ho o Udne Do ho o
Hawa zara si Lagne Do
Soya tha abb Jagne Do ho o
Pankhon Ko Hawa Zara Si LAgne Do
Hawa Zara Si Lagne Do
diL ki patang Chahon mein gote khati hai
Dhil to do Dekho kahan pe jati hai
Uljhe Nahi to Kaise Suljhoge
Bikhre nahi to kaise Nihkroge
Udne do ho o Udne Do ho o
Hawa zara si Lagne Do
Soya tha abb Jagne Do ho o
Pankhon Ko Hawa Zara Si LAgne Do

Eat, Pray & Love

I have been hooked to this book through my travel in metro from home to office and back. And one of the portions in the book really inspired me today. Something I want to cherish and remember for the rest of my life! Though much has been said about the book already hence would not comment on it at all! but absolutely touching and real book for me!
One of my favorite part in the book is when the author is seeking divorce from her husband and her husband refuses. She is coaxed by her friend to write a fictitious letter to god explaining that the couple had a failed marriage and now they are even failing at their divorce. Hence he(God) should ensure that the couple should be separated. Later, the friend asks the author, who all would approve of her letter to god. The two come up with a list of people alive and dead, claiming that what she's asking god is justified and would be acceptable to each of the names they mentioned.
The best part is while discussing the names, the author receives a call from her Attorney who informs her that her husband has signed the paper.
I am a spiritual person but even I have experienced the presence of god ( you may call him Allah, Rama, Shiva, Christ, Balaji.... etc.). For he does surprises you when you least expect it! In small joys of life and in places where you least expect him! I just wish he shows me one more miracle one last time :)!! For I badly need this one!

A big Thank you ~ A crabby family

:P Yeah my family is dominated by Cancerians, my parents and I are all Cancerians. Birthdays are truly special for everybody. And this year as well all 3 birthdays were celebrated with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The way all of us got greeted by Raaga (my 7 months old niece) first thing in the morning is commendable! Cheers to my eldest sister she truly knows how make people feel absulutelywonderfulfantaboulous at the same time!! No matter how old you grow they always create the excitement of your gift every time.
The Gift Reaction: Every Year
With Dad I have always seen this deep thought on his face, when he opens the gift and feels very proud about the fact that we all care for him. All he's say is "Thank you beta!"
Then it's my turn, am an absolute drama queen and this year got equally dramatic gifts. A big black plastic bag with loads of newspaper stuffed in it. I was so upset that I told my younger sister to take it back. Later I realized that "all that looks trash is not really trash." My gift for this year is a precious thing!!
Believe me my mom's a little melodramatic ( now do I see that grin on your face which means " oh as if you are less melodramatic!) She always says "I dont need any gift!" "In sab ki kya zaroorat thi!" "I just need love!" But the very next moment you'd find her busy taking the wrapping of the gift carefully and then appreciate the choice of gift or card! LOL'z
Thank you everybody ( Mom, Dad, Jaya, Jija, Raaga, Uncle, Aunty, Dibbu, Prabhat, Celeste, Leena, Nishtha, Jessi, Ruchi, Raju, Naba, and If I have forgotten anyone's name kindly kill me)coz I would have done the same.
Over and over every year we enjoy these special days and forget to thank some people who make these days special for all of us! You all know who you are and want you guys to know that you guys have made these special days memorable for us to cherish for the rest of our lives! :)

Movie Fiesta :)
Since FIFA is over something is missing big time from my life!! I mean it still makes me nostalgic how dad and I watched most matches as I returned from work! For most late night matches we'd stack pop-corns and coke. My mom's not a football lover so everyday she made hue n cry about missing her dailys soaps. She is one of the happiest to get the controls of TV back as the World cup got lifted by espanols!!!

So have been thinking of new ways to keep myself busy on Sundays. Thanks to Delhi weather no one wishes to step out of homes these days. Hence today Dad and I decided to watch a movie at home after checking our options of movies on Idiot Box (most of which we'd already seen before) we decided to watch "Well Done Abba". Kuddos to the entire team for putting in a brilliant satire on our government. Truly "Well Done"!!!! A long time after "Munna Bhai MBBS" we watched something so simulating. Must watch from both of us!! we were so touched by the genuineness and gravity of the situation faced by a common man. Watch out for incerdible Boman Irani, Minisha Lamba and the entire set of govt officials true to the core. The only weakling was the sub plot of Ravi Kishan and Sonali Kulkarni majorly a turn off in a movie like this.

Thinking about "The curious case of Benjamin Button" still gets tears rolling outta my eyes. A film very well made. It truly depicts the dilemma of someone and those around him who's life moves exactly opposite to ways of the world. He's born old and grows up to be young and finally dies an infant. All along this journey he looses people he has loved. Its quite nerve wrecking and heart breaking when he has to leave the love of his life and an year old baby as he feels he might end up being her playmate not her father. Strange are the ways of life and so this one surely makes a very special place in my heart I absolutely adored it but dad lost interest mid-way sadly. :( But definitely a must watch from my side but not a great movie is what I heard dad telling one of my sisters.

Raaga: Upset Today

Raaga is my eldest sister's baby but all 3 of us mother her! She is like first baby of all three of us and hence very dear to us. Since Raaga can't be around all the time ( she stays in Mumbai) hence we usually ask my sister to come on skype to catch her doing all the activities. Her recent activities includes sitting properly, turning and rolling, eager to stand with the support of her mom's or my bro-in-laws hands. If this is not enough to bring that smile on your face, the best is while she's recently discovered her limbs and loved to keep staring at her feet which is a sight of absolute pleasure.
Her new hobbies include eating at MC Donald ( the breakfast menu), passing big smiles when my mom recites nursery rhymes to her on skype with action or when her parents come back from work, getting her pics clicked, not to be believed SHOPPING esp her own clothes and best is long drives. She'd constantly keep gazing outside. She's my little devil who's very very adorable.
However, today was not a very nice day for her for she had a bad stomach and rashes on her bums and constantly cried while we were on skype. This post is to wish my baby a very speedy recovery so that she's playful and fun filled like ever before. Mausi loves you baby. :)

Rotary Blood Bank: Guideline

"No one shall suffer in and around Delhi for want of Blood" Rotary! I still suffered: Thanks to the blood bank
Believe me after 2 days of hustle and bustle from Mayur Vihar to Tuglaqabad Institutional Area, I surely can say that a lot of people suffer and waste a lot of time for lack of information while collecting blood units. Leaving my miseries apart, I am writing this post for anyone and everyone who's near and dear one is need of blood units or component that is unavailable with the hospital blood bank. Since it's fresh I am making a note of the same on my blog for my reference and for anyone of you who's reading it.
To begin with
a.You cannot get blood at the Rotary Blood Bank without giving completed requisition form signed by the doctor or authorized medical personnel.
b.Make sure the hospital or nursing home's name is entered on the requisition form. The hospitals would only give a requisition form only when you get the patient admitted.
c.The patient's representative should bring the patient's blood sample. My take only a fresh sample coz according to the blood bank and old sample can be complicated to deal with! My Dad's Blood sample was taken almost 4 times thanks to them and their demand of fresh sample.
d. Before coming to the Bank, check out the latest availability of the particular blood product over phone. Most critical, as they can say “No” very easily. (darn they don’t have any service deliverable like most of us!!!
e. It takes a few minutes to process a requisition. Wait. For someone like me it’s not a problem. But when the front reception guy snaps at you early in the morning they see only the other side of me.
g. A processing fee will have to be paid for the blood/ blood products. My favorite, as I think I called round about 7-8 times not even once anybody told me about the processing fee. When questioned they convenient answer was –“Your doctor is suppose to tell you this!” My only problem how can you blame others for your own mistakes. Hence am enclosing the charges oooooooops “processing fee” for the units you take.
Blood Processing Fee
Cross matching Rs 150
Whole blood Rs 1150 per unit
Packed cell Rs 1150 per unit
Platelets Rs 950 per unit
Fresh frozen plasma Rs 1000 per unit
Aphaeresis Rs 8700
Blood Grouping Rs 50
Rh Antibody Titre Rs 210
Lueco Reduce Red Cells Rs 1350
Each bag of blood carries a label which gives information on type of blood product, blood group, date of packing, date of expiry.
My heart goes out to all the families of the patients who really loose their patience while dealing with morons like I did for past two days! Here me heaving a sigh of relief that my nightmare is over!!! Wish this does not happen to anyone!

Banwara Mann

Sometime certain things are beyond our control. All you do is keep brooding, I am feeling so awful right now that I want to cry. And with so much sorrow, my head is aching like someone hammered it. As a kid I read that music has healing ability. I happen to listen to this track, for some reason I kept listening to it over and over again.Posting its lyrics :
MOvie: Hazaron Khawhishey Aisi
Singer: Shubha Moudgal
Bavra Mann Dekhne Chala Ek Sapna
Bavra Mann Dekhne Chala Ek Sapna
Bavre Se Mann Ki Dekho Bavri Hain Baatein
Bavre Se Mann Ki Dekho Bavri Hain Baatein

Love never conquers all

2 weeks ago I got a call from one of my very close friends 'R', and I was shattered to hear when he said- “Priya am getting divorced!" I was just so numb to hear that I ran outta words to console him. Its strange how life takes twists and turns and the high in the life is gone and you are at all time low.
R was one of the luckiest guy in our group who got married to the girl he loved. He was so sure about her, irrespective of all the resentment from both the families (since both of them were from different clan). I use to quote his example amongst friends. I was so proud of him!
Today in spite of the fact that I regret everything from the beginning of this year till date but I hate things even more after what he's going through! I mean its heart breaking to see someone love unconditionally and get only pain and remorse in return! There is simply no surety in life- no matter what things will go wrong.
He's leaving for States in a matter of days! All I pray for him is some sanity and strength to fight back this situation in a brave manner! I would miss him as we have developed a bond since we have been together for dog number of years! I really wish that he comes out as a winner through this crisis. 'R' How stupid of me I don’t even know if you will ever read this or not! Don’t worry god is watching you!
This Post is dedicated to you Baba Uncle
I read your one liner today and I was pleased to know you have been following my blog. I am capturing incidents of my family and people around me, for god is been gracious enough to bring in brave souls around me! Its a pleasure to know that it takes all kinds of people to make this world. and you do bump into morons every now and then but then on special occasion you meet brave souls!! People who are extraordinary in their own small ways, you know that they can't struggle on your behalf nor can you fit into their shoe but you derive motivation and strength from each other!!
All I hope is you continue reading it and put in your comments and criticism. Would be really helpful!!! Thanks for reading everybody!!

~If I dint Care~

This song is quite catchy and it comes at time a time when I wanted to find answers to a lot of questions in my mind. For someone once told me Love is all about caring for each other. So this ones for you and shall always remain in my memory for ever
If I didn't care more than words can say
If I didn't care would I feel this way?
If this isn't love then why do I thrill?
And what makes my head go 'round and 'round
While my heart stands still?
If I didn't care would it be the same?
Would my ev'ry prayer begin and end with just your name?
And would I be sure that this is love beyond compare?
Would all this be true if I didn't care for you?
If I didn't care would it be the same?
Would my ev'ry prayer begin and end with just your name?
And would I be sure that this is love beyond compare?
Would all this be true if I didn't care for you?

IT'S ALL RIGHT TO......
Just follow your HEART

These are lists of things which are fine by me:
@ Laugh uncontrollably with friends at the same jokes over and over again( even if those around you don't get what's so funny).
@ Be Envious of your friends without be malicious (Sometimes I wish i was thinner and richer like some of my friends). Oh c'mon am a human 'sigh'
@ Be the first one in the line at a Buffet. BE THE LUCKY ONE :)
@ To bitch about your work to your friends and vice versa. You know neither will tell the other. Smart eh!
@ Take Away toiletry from hotel bathrooms. They are handy: My mom's patent.
@ Fall asleep watching a film in the theater! Got it from my dad- list of movies is endless where he use to sleep off to glory :)
@ Throw a tantrum, sulk, cry, they're the best ways to get what you want!!! I am trying to really work on this one coz I prefer sarcasm over this one!! Hail me :|
@ Sit around the entire house an entire day being completely useless. I am extremely lazy.
@ Follow your instincts. don't always do what is expected off you by your bosses, family, peers at work or your friends. Way to go :)
@ To say 'I don't know' or 'I have no idea' in a group discussion. No one's judging :)
@ Be extravagant sometimes- we only have one life. We all work too hard to make ends meet, so why not pamper yourself occasionally. Yippieeeeeeeeeeeeee
@ Want cheesy things like flower, chocolates, love notes, candle night dinners. NO AGE bar for it ....
@ Lastly, just follow your heart knowing well that it's going to land you in trouble or just end up being broken (We all have been there, haven't we)

Sister's Act
Off late, I have loads of time at my hand hence I have given into my all time favourite hobby: reading. Barring the course books, that line up shelves, my favourite book these days is "Interpreter of Maladies" by Jhumpa Lahiri. The book has lot of real time references and the bitterness all of us have tasted at at some point or the other in our life.
So it does not surprise me at all, when one night I decided - I'd finish the last story no matter how much time it takes. In the process of doing so, I forgot to have my dinner and cooked Maggie- my favourite late night snack. While reading the book I went down the memory lane when my sisters and I, use to study late night, and prepare mid-night snacks like club sandwitches, maggie, fried rice, potato wedges and if Jaya was really kind we'd get some nice coffee, tang, etc. as well. The thought itself brought a huge smile on my face, at the same time I was sad by the fact that we no longer have time to do this today.
I dedicate this post to you guys for giving me such wonderful memories and loving moments to cherish all my life. Cheers Gurls you guys rock :)

Shoes Shoes Shoes :)
So those of you who wanted to know about my whereabouts forget it, I owe no explanations. Anyways those of you who know me really well know for fact the fetish I have for shoes. I think I have lost the count of pairs I have as they are spread across three cabinets (lolzzzzz not flashing).
Logic: No matter you put on weight or loose weight your shoe size remains constant.

Anyways had nothing much to do over the weekend so instead of finding agenda cleaned my shoes it includes 4 pairs of my favourite flip flops (still missed on the 5Th one, a pair of red converse and a pair of black running shoes. Loved the colours and hence posting it for all of you. Simple and mundane task made exciting.
Yeah one more thing am very proud of my collection and love each and every pair :)

Every Crisis Comes with an Oppurtunity

Life does gives us lemons! So when ever you are way to happy about your life, don't congratulate yourself too much. Coz the next moment he'd put you in a spot, wherein you want to do so much but then you are helpless in front of him- "The Supreme Power" which controls the very essence of life on this planet. Yeah the "Crisis" has hit me and one of my beloved family member is gravely ill. Here are the excerpts from an Spiritual Teacher, her name is Marty Varnadoe Dow.
*********************************************************************************
Crisis is painful, frightening, and difficult. None of us consciously, invite crisis into our lives. We do not look forward to the next life threatening event to come our way. We have never received an invitation to celebrate a crisis in the life of one of our friends. The news of crisis brings the feelings of sadness, fear and regret. No one wants to face death, financial ruin, loss of job, or a divorce. We do not wish these events on others. So how is it That I can tell you, who are in crisis, that your situation is the adventure of a lifetime.
Bridged**
Crisis is a two-edged sword. it brings the destruction of life as we have known it. It threatens our status quo, creating chaos where there was once stability. It challenges our beliefs and response patterns. It pushes our ability to cope. But crisis always brings opportunity for something new to develop the ruins of our old way of life. Its pain is like the contractions of labor; almost too much to bear, yet easily forgotten with the joy of a new birth.
Crisis offers many hidden benefits to those who accept the challenge to transform in the face of disaster. it gives you the opportunity to shift direction and make important changes in your life. As people re-evaluate the meaning of life during the crises, they often discover their life mission, giving them greater sense of direction and purpose.
Some times people in crisis will find an inner strength they never knew existed. Some people learn to tap into their inner guidance for day to day direction. Others find they are given the opportunity to re-evaluate core beliefs that had negatively affected their experiences of life.
Crisis invites you to experience and release old fears. In the face of death or annihilation, people have the opportunity to consciously choose life. Most people find a deeper connection to God. Many people develop a profound sense of trust, knowing there is someone or something larger then themselves that is watching over them.
Crisis is an opportunity, not a certainty. you can choose to take advantage of the energy in a crisis or you can surrender to the feelings of despair or hopelessness. The adventure begins when you choose to use this opportunity to grow. I have heard about people who have accepted the challenge and transformed their lives. These people are not special. they are ordinary human beings just like you. If they can do it, so can YOU
